20 Years Under Charge: How Blue Star Electrified the Polish GSM Market

Two decades ago, a mobile phone was a luxury item, and the Nokia 3310 was just beginning its march through Polish pockets. Today, a smartphone stays with us almost around the clock — and, just as it was back then, it still needs good accessories to keep running smoothly. Over the past 20 years, Blue Star has grown alongside the mobile device market, evolving from a modest line of chargers into a full lineup covering nearly every aspect of smartphone use. This year is special for another reason too: Partner Tele.com, the company behind Blue Star, is marking its own 25th anniversary — though that’s a story for another time.

The beginning: a garage, Nokia holsters, and the first cars with a phone mounted on the dashboard

It all started in Kraków in 2001, when three friends decided to launch a company selling mobile phone accessories: Partner Tele.com. The setup was modest — a small, almost garage-like space, with customers often walking in straight off the street. In the early days, the company mainly sold holsters for the Nokia 3310 and car antennas, both genuine bestsellers at the time.

The years that followed brought rapid growth: the company was among the first on the market to launch its own online wholesale platform, began taking orders from across Poland, and steadily expanded its team and warehouse. It was this foundation, built through years of hands-on experience and close attention to the changing needs of drivers and phone users, that gave rise to the idea of launching an in-house accessories brand.

Three stages of Blue Star packaging design, from earlier accessory boxes to modern minimalist packaging for mobile and smart accessories.

The birth of Blue Star

Five years after the company was founded, with Partner Tele.com already firmly established in the wholesale market and the GSM sector maturing alongside the growing popularity of mobile phones, the opportunity arose to create a brand of its own — one focused on the products people use every day. That’s how Blue Star came to be, the company’s first proprietary brand. Its earliest products were mains and car chargers. Chargers were the starting point for everything the brand offers today, and it’s no coincidence that they remain one of its most important categories.

In the years that followed, the range expanded steadily, and the company grew right along with it — from a handful of people to an organization that today employs more than 150 staff and serves customers across Europe. This period also saw the launch of a second in-house brand, Forcell, covering phone holsters and cases, which allowed Blue Star to focus on growing its own, ever-broadening product niche.

From charger to a complete accessories ecosystem

Twenty years into its journey, Blue Star is far more than just chargers. It’s a brand that stays with smartphone owners at every stage — from the moment they buy a phone, through daily use, all the way to servicing and repair.

Charging — the heart of the range Charging is where it all began, which is why this category remains one of the broadest. The lineup includes mains chargers, car chargers, and modern inductive chargers, with models delivering up to 15 W for fast, cable-free top-ups. These are complemented by durable cables, including options built for fast charging and the latest USB-C standards.

Car accessories For drivers, Blue Star offers an extensive range of car mounts — from classic clamp-arm designs, to vent-mounted holders, to modern solutions that combine phone holding with inductive charging. This category shows most clearly how far the brand has come since those first car antennas two decades ago.

Screen protection Blue Star’s tempered glass screen protectors, including UV variants, guard the display against scratches while preserving full touch sensitivity and image clarity — a direct response to the needs of owners of increasingly expensive and demanding smartphones.

Replacement batteries The range also includes replacement batteries for smartphones, used both by individual customers and by GSM repair shops giving older phones a second life.

Audio Blue Star is also building out its audio segment — from light, compact true wireless earbuds, to comfortable over-ear headphones designed for long listening sessions, to classic wired models valued for their stable connection and no need for charging.

Travel and additional accessories Rounding out the offer are travel adapters that make it easier to use electronics abroad, along with a range of smaller accessories that mean the brand’s catalog covers nearly every day-to-day need related to phone use.

20 years of experience in every product

What sets the brand apart after two decades on the market is experience translated into concrete design decisions — from choosing materials, to lab testing, to shaping products around the real needs of drivers and smartphone users. Every new addition to the Blue Star portfolio draws on knowledge built up since those first Nokia 3310 holsters, all the way to today’s inductive charging mounts.

From a small stall selling car antennas to a full range of GSM accessories available across Europe — Blue Star’s 20-year story is one of steady, consistent growth, where each new product answers the changing habits of phone users.

And while phones, chargers, and mounts have changed beyond recognition over these 20 years, one thing has stayed the same: Blue Star is still right where phone users need it — whether that’s in the car or in the rush of everyday life.
